Hygge Power is working on the future of energy generation, distribution and storage. Their products assist Utilities in power leveling, green energy diversification, and improved customer experience. Hygge Power technology provides cost reduced energy to consumers through Integral household battery systems that optimize power usage while providing consumers a seamless (invisible) power experience

SPHERO (May 2017 - FEBRUARY 2018)

Firmware Engineer

2018 Prototypes – Unreleased robots currently under development for this year.

  • Designed and implemented velocity and position controls with potentiometer and encoder feedback.

2017 Star Wars Droids – Creation of R2-D2, R2-Q5, and BB-9E toy robots.

  • Modified position and velocity control systems to gain a faster response and higher resolution.

  • Implemented Droid-To-Droid interactions between multiple robots over Bluetooth Low Energy.

  • Sole engineer responsible for Human-To-Droid interactions by detection of subtle acceleration and gyroscopic changes.
     


Methode Electronics (MAY 2015 - April 2017)

Lead Electrical and Software Engineer

Prototype 12 kilowatt double conversion uninterruptible power supply with lithium ion battery technology.

  • Lead electrical requirements development, system architecture, and power component selection.
  • Implemented lessons learned from the previous AC6000 design.

AC6000 – First 6 kilowatt standby uninterruptible power supply with lithium ion battery technology.

  • Thoroughly tested system through the use of thermal chambers, surge testers, and EMI analyzers.
  • Resolved certification, production, and customer issues through initial beta test and safe launch.
  • Helped with cost reduction of system, streamlining of production line, and design for manufacturing changes. 

ORB and Small Battery Pack – Pole mounted battery backup for industrial applications and a small battery with a charger for hand-held devices.

  • Lead requirements development, system architecture, and design tradeoffs.

EEtrex Incorporated (May 2010 - May 2015)

Digital Electronics Engineer

  • Analog to digital sensor design, embedded control system development, integration and debug of power electronics.
  • Responsible for hybrid electric car lithium ion battery testing system.
  • Developed, verified, and documented the hardware and software for the testing system.
  • Implemented exception handling mitigating almost all previous accidents and safety hazards.
  • Optimized system with resource management and pipelining increasing fabrication throughput.
